A worried client came for a reading.  She had come very near to having sex with a coworker and was concerned that he might talk about it at work, creating any number of unpleasant situations.

Question:  What will happen next?  For the querent? For her office-mate? In general?

Card 1 – The Querent – 8 of Coins

As a prudent and careful person, she’s built up a storehouse of goodwill.  If she’s worried about her husband, this card indicates that he’s observed her over time, and has come to know her as a person he can rely upon and trust.  This one situation will not change that.

Card 1a (the result of the situation on the Querent) – 6 of Coins

This confirms that she’ll come through this okay.  Of course she doesn’t feel good about it (and shouldn’t).  Her appropriate guilt comes from her innate sense of fair play, right and wrong, conscience.  She did the right thing in the end by not sleeping with him.  But, because she’s seen how easily this type of thing can happen, she’ll likely be doubly careful in future.

Card 2 – the other guy – King of Cups

Card 2a (his inner nature) – Knight of Swords

A sensualist. He loves pleasure for pleasure’s sake. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out that he’s been working on seducing the querent for some time.  It also wouldn’t surprise me to learn that this guy is in a more powerful position than the querent.  Perhaps he’s even her boss.

He may have even justified the seduction beforehand by thinking it would be good for the client.  One thing’s for sure – he wasn’t thinking about any long (or short) term negative consequences for her.

He was surprised that things broke off the way they did.  But, he is okay with it.  At this point he may be glad that things stopped.

Card 3 – future (any repurcussions?) – 3 of Cups

The client’s marriage will remain intact.  There is potential for this situation to strengthen the bond between the two of them.

Card 3b – (will he blurt it out) – Knight of Coins

Will he let what happened be revealed at work?  Very unlikely.
