Interview with Il Meneghello Soprafino Tarot

The Soprafino tarot produced by Il Meneghello is a beautiful reproduction of the 1835 Tarocco Soprafino of Gumppenberg of Milan, Italy. The tarot deck is made of thick, unlaminated paper, and is a joy to hold and to work with.

Whenever I get a new deck, I use this six card tarot spread to allow the deck to “say hello”.  This particular tarot spread assigns the following meanings to each card position:

1. Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?
2. What are your strengths as a tarot deck?
3. What are your limits as a tarot deck?
4. What do you bring to the table?  What are you here to teach me?
5. How can I best learn from and collaborate with you?
6. What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?

Tell me about yourself

I have been tested and proven over time to be an excellent source deck for knowledge and insight. My roots go deep into the established tarot tradition. At the same time, I am elegant and beautiful.

What are your strengths as a tarot deck?

My messages are clear and from the heart. I can give strength and encouragement, and will not hesitate to tell someone to turn away from a path that is not for them.

What are your limits as a tarot deck?

I am confident – even a bit arrogant and fixed in my ways. I will give you clear and good advice, which you would do well to follow. If you don’t, the fault is your own.

What do you have to teach me?

It’s time for you to put yourself more before people with confidence in your loving gifts and skills. There is a place in the tarot world for you.

How can I best learn from and collaborate with you?

Be confident in your understanding and intuition. Don’t hesitate or give in to the idea that you don’t know how to work with me. Act as if you do, because you do.

What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?

I will take you to just to the edge of your full abilities as a reader, and will be a tool for you through your life.
