The Magician is still for me one of the most difficult cards to interpret when it appears in a reading, I don't know why... it is such an elusive fellow. I think it's because the Magician never reveals his tricks, lol! The fact that he is not looking at his table may also mean "mastery" - he knows his craft so well, his hands are so used to doing what he does that he doesn't even needs his eyes anymore.
