You can beat the accuracy of the television weather forecasters – and have fun at the same time. How to predict the weather clearly and easily using nothing more than a deck of tarot cards. This is a revised and updated version of How to predict the weather using tarot cards.
Basic orientation
These instructions assume you know a little about tarot cards. If you’re new to tarot, just follow along as best you can. Anyone can use this method. No understanding of jargon is required.
Which tarot deck should I use?
You can use any tarot deck you like. A deck like the Marseille with non-scenic pips may be helpful to you.
Can I use the suits and elements I already know?
Yes. You can use any elemental attributions you choose. If you use the modern ones (Coins=Earth, Swords=Air, Cups=Water, Wands=Fire), substitute the traditional values below with those familiar to you.
To make it even easier, a PDF form of this article is available with both sets of values. Your cost: one cup of tea. When you purchase the tea, send a note that you would like the pdf article. I’ll send it to you right away.
If none of this stuff about attributions makes sense to you, just use the tables given below. They will give you excellent results.
When should I make my predictions?
Make your weather prediction the night before.
Predicting today’s weather as a test won’t work. The tarot is intelligent and will meet you with the same amount of seriousness as you meet it. In other words, if you respect the tarot, it will respect you. If you are open to the possibility that this will work for you, you will be very pleasantly surprised with how well it does.
How often should I do this?
You decide how often you want to predict the weather. If you want to make weather predictions once in a while, that’s fine. Doing this once or twice a week for a month will give you a better sense of how accurate it is. The more you use this method, the better you will get.
How should I track my weather predictions?
It’s best to keep notes. Each time you predict the weather, make a record of the current date, the date you are predicting the weather for, the forecast. Later, come back and write the actual weather and whether you were accurate, somewhat accurate, or not at all.
Your accuracy may very well improve with practice.
Anything else I should keep in mind?
Use common sense. Match your forecast to your location and time of year. If your cards predict a heat wave for January and you live in Duluth, that may be 40 or 50 degrees F (4-10 C). Your intelligence plus tarot equals a weather prediction that makes sense.

Hi again Alec,
I did a weather reading for the following day and got the 10 of Cups (precipitation – lots of it), followed by the 6 of Cups later, better weather. It DIDN’T happen all day, so I told my husband it would probably start at 10 o’clock that night and finish by 6 o’clock the next day – and that’s exactly what it did!
Alec,
You may be amazed at this story. Once, quite by chance, I was playing with my Tarot cards when I decided to check on the weather, namely a hurricane coming into the Gulf of Mexico. The hurricane, due to make landfall the next morning, was heading towards the mouth of the Mississippi River. I did a Celtic Cross spread and looked at the cards confused.
Then I zoned out and as my eyes de-focused I realized that I was not looking at Tarot card spread but instead a map of New Orleans. The cross in the center was the city and the staff on the right was the Mississippi River. And one card was reversed in the whole layout. The Sun (position #9) Reversed.
The next morning reports of Hurricane Katrina barreling into New Orleans left me with chills. The report also stated that the levee broke just northeast of the city, right where the reversed Sun card had indicated.
Be Blessed, Alec!!
Mark,
That is an amazing story!!!
Alec
