Vieville Tarot 10 Wheel

It’s raining cats and dogs today. While coming to work this morning, I overheard someone saying, “No way anyone is not getting wet today.”  Well, I’m ready to get wet.  Let that rain pour down.

Have you ever felt that things just could not get any worse in a particular area of your life?

Sometimes our daily readings speak exactly to what’s going on. This one one of those times. Today’s tarot reading was a doozy.Interested?  Read on!

This Tarot Spread is a Doozy!

Help! I’m surrounded!

Looking at this spread, the first thing we see are 3 powerful major arcana cards surrounding one of the more difficult wands cards. Is there a way out on the remaining side? No! That way is blocked by the worry card!

Reading from right to left, corresponding to past, present and future:

1. I’m bounded by a history of worries and dread in this situation. (9 swords reversed)

2. At the moment I’m in a reality of nose to the grindstone work work and more work, which never seems to bear much fruit. (7 coins reversed)

3. I can look forward to significant and irreversible change which is out of my control.

Taken as a whole, this three card story clearly refers to a particular work situation which is known to me.

Above and below the situation

…is the Wheel which raises the low and brings down the high. Below is the hanged man reversed, underscoring the truth that what will happen is out of my control. Any resistance is futile. It is truly out of my hands. If I accept this completely, the distress and anxiety about this situation in the past can be mitigated.

It’s true that my attitude has changed 180 degrees through the course of this work situation. I understand now that not everything can be fixed. I myself am not able to change many things single-handedly. These two realisations put me on solid ground even if my hands remain tied with an inability to effect change.

Part of me waits to see the failure coming to those directing this situation due to their unwillingness and inability to listen or give credence to what I had to say about what needed to be done while there was still time to turn things around.

There is no joy in being Cassandra.

Like Cassandra I wait to see what will happen with a morbid sense of expectation. The wheels of justice turn exceedingly slowly most of the time – yet they do eventually turn. Turning (sorry for the pun) a blind eye to this elemental force is never wise. Payback can be slow, relentless and horribly beautiful. Balance in the end always exerts itself.

The Car Wash

Have you ever driven a car through an old-fashioned automated car wash? When doing so you are instructed to put the car in neutral, take your hands off the wheel and your foot off the brake. From this position the forces around you rock your vehicle as the muck is washed clean. No matter how things appear, you are in no danger.

Oh universe, today let the rain fall down.

I’m ready to be clean.

Sasha Fenton included a version of this spread in her book Tarot in Action. Over the years I’ve consistently gone back to this spread. Perhaps you’ll like it too.

A tale of Hermes

I stared at the computer screen working different combinations in an effort to get the program running. It was a strange code. None of us knew what it would do. All we knew was that it had been intercepted with some internet packets. Source unknown.

Dear Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), Last night I had such a positive experience on the Q33 bus that I thought you should know about it.
