The 8-Bit Tarot

Do you remember the computer game graphics of the 1980′s? Indigo Kelleigh’s 8-Bit Tarot is a well-executed, beautiful and lovable tarot deck that pays homage to those wonderful games. The 8-Bit Tarot deck is based on the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. But it’s more than a clone. Somehow the 8-bit graphics open up intuition in a way that make tarot readings fresh – at least for me. The cards themselves may seem cutesy at first – but don’t let this put you off. You’ll see in the interview below that this is a wise and capable deck which deserves a place in your tarot basket.

The following tarot deck interview was conducted using FireHaven’s spread, which you can download for free here: [download id="3"]

Use me for readings! Use me for readings! Hi ho Silver, away!!!!

Tarot Deck Interview with the 8-Bit Tarot

1. Tell me about yourself. What is your most important characteristic?

8 Bit Tarot
Sadly, I’m about to go out of print, and don’t expect to ever be reprinted again.  Just as the golden age of classic computer games has come and gone, so the brief time of my sojourn as an available deck is coming to an end.  To paraphrase the Dalai Lama, we are here for a short time. If we can increase the happiness of others, then we shall truly know the secret of life. I like to think that in my short time in the tarot limelight, I have been able to lighten the hearts of readers and tarot seekers both. (Unnamed Arcana reversed)

2. What are your strengths as a tarot deck?

I’m a joker! with a purpose. While you and your seeker focus on my pretty designs, big noses and bright colors, I can sneak in truths and insights that you might not be able to receive otherwise. (2 of Coins reversed)

3. What are your limits as a tarot deck?

Few take me seriously enough to allow me to work. Few will read with me. Those that do will limit their readings to light and effervescent topics. This is a shame, because I am directly connected with all that is, and would freely reveal it if only I were asked. (Temperance reversed)

4. What are you here to teach us?

If you are in a state of sadness, loss, trouble or grief, please remember that love and comfort are available to you.  Every life experiences these hard times.  May you never again have to experience them alone. (5 of Cups)

5. How can we best learn from and collaborate with you?

Use me for readings! Use me for readings! Hi ho Silver, away!!!! (Knight of Swords)

6. What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?

Let me distract you from your intensity when such a focus no longer serves you. Let me refresh your mind with happiness from above. You are not alone. (4 of Cups)

7. Any final words?

I’ve got your back. You can rely on me, if and when you choose to do so. (9 of Wands)

Where can you find the 8-Bit Tarot

Gah Alec, this deck is too CUTE! I liked this little interview… looks like it has a personality similar to the Gummy Bear. I think they could be friends ;)

      Marina,

I’m so glad you liked it – yes they could be friends. Are you still reading with the Gummy Bear? Miss you at the AT Trade Train Pub – will be back in there this weekend.

      Alec
