Here is a short review of a gorgeous art deck published in 1989 by il Meneghello called 22 Arcana by 22 Artists1. This majors only tarot deck is composed of separately commissioned art works for each card of the 22 major arcana.
This limited edition tarot of 2000 copies comes with a descriptive pamphlet (in Italian) describing details of each work. The cards are large and well-printed, as is everything coming from the house of Osvaldo Menegazzi. One edition of this deck even has each card hand-signed by the artists. Wouldn’t that be a treasure to own! As it is, this “plain vanilla” limited edition copy is wonderful enough. Right now I have card 11, Strength, framed on my desk in transparent lucite. It’s turning out to be an elegant way to appreciate each card in an unhurried and respectful way.
The cardstock for 22 Pittori in 22 Arcani is thick and slightly glossy. The backs are a solid greenish grey. It’s unlikely that this deck would ever be used for reading.
If you have opportunity to pick up this deck, you might find it a special and unique addition to your tarot collection. Recommended!

Stop enabling me on out of print, hard to find, likely expensive decks, no matter how beautiful they are!
Manda,
You’re making me laugh so hard. Thanks for the grin this morning.
I just know that these decks are out there somewhere for you. Right now one is languishing unloved just waiting for its keeper to send it on to you.
Thanks for the comment. I’m going to check out your blog now.
